Coco Cola Scholarship programs can be classified as– • Four Year Award for Seniors – This scholarship is based on merit and students from all public and private schools across U.S. are eligible to apply. It is for seniors in high school who want to study further and attend a 4 year college or university. This scholarship is paid out over 4 years and requires a minimum 3 GPA at the end of the junior year at high school. From the applications that are received, around 2200 semi finalists are shortlisted. They are supposed to submit a secondary application and then a group of 250 finalists are selected from them. Out of these 250, only 50 students are chosen as National Scholars and each awarded $20000 for their education while remaining 200 are the Regional Scholars and each receives $10000 for their education. • Coco Cola 2 Years Scholarship Program – Even this is a merit based scholarship given to students in 2 year colleges who exhibit leadership skills, volunteer participation in communities and excellent academic record. Around 350 outstanding, civic minded students are awarded $1000 under this program which is administered by Phi Theta Kappa. • Coco Cola First Generation Scholarships – This is a unique scholarship program that is awarded to students who are first to attend college in their immediate families. This program has awarded more than $19 million under this scholarship program. • Coco Cola All State Community College Academic Program – These are 400 scholarships awarded to students who are planning to attend or attending a 2 year college and earn a degree. Under this program, in each of the 50 states, the top scoring student is named ‘New Century Scholar’ and awarded $2000 scholarship each. Remaining 350 are classified as Gold Scholars ($1500 scholarship), Silver Scholars ($1250 scholarship) and Bronze Scholars ($1000 scholarship). The applicants must be enrolled at a community college and have a college level cumulative GPA of 3.5. Coco Cola Scholarship Programs do not evaluate a person on his financial need; it evaluates in four areas namely academic achievement, community service, leadership and employment.
