Purpose of award: To support local communities and to help students achieve their educational dreams.
Eligibility requirements: Applicants must be high school seniors. Selection is based on academic record, test scores, community and extracurricular involvement, work experience and financial need. Each Wal-Mart Store and Sam's Club awards up to two scholarships. Wal-Mart employees and the children of employees are not eligible.
Target applicant: High school students
Minimum GPA: None
Amount: $1,000.
Number of awards: 3,000.
Deadline: February 1.
How to apply: Applications are only available at your local Wal-Mart Store or Sam's Club during the first week of December.
